The rose review for earth + salt

Most suction toys have a hole that’s meant to go directly over the clitoris. The Rose has that, plus layers of petals that increase surface area and send waves of vibrations to other erogenous zones.

Though this rose looks delicate, it provides powerful suction-style stimulation. The lowest vibration was too strong for direct stimulation on my sensitive clitoris but I was pleasantly surprised at the yummy indirect clitoral stimulation I got from it.

Esther Perel designates eroticism as the antidote to death. The word erotic has ties with the word desire and I like to think of my own eroticism as that which desires to come alive; that which energizes the most unwavering parts of myself. I see my eroticism as a lightness of being that is ever-present under the weight of worry and self-limitation.

Writing erotica helps me celebrate the loving ways I touch other bodies; the vulnerable moments when I ask for what I want; the tingling thrill of hearing my own voice flirt or talk dirty; the finer details that are teased out and embellished to create a furious, fictional scene; the awakening of my wanting.

The NY TIMES Modern love story (online + in print)

We had been friends for a year when she sent me the text: “I’m attracted to you.” I was stunned into a newfound curiosity and confusion. I had never been with a woman before. Three weeks after the text, we went to a D.J. set — as friends. She asked if I wanted to go to the bathroom. We took turns peeing and then went to the sink. I gathered her hands in mine and lathered them, our skin making soapsuds and a new charge of electricity. We kissed with the sink running, hands interlocked, a friendship spilling at our feet.

Copy for my upcoming philosophy course

Yoga philosophy has been a touchstone for me during my most trying times. It is generous, expansive, and fortifying. It can sense what’s left when all of the burdens and obligations fall away.

Yoga philosophy can give us an anchor of hope and wonder, bringing us back to what’s important when we get caught in a loop. When the logistics and semantics of everyday life bind us, coming together around these ideas is what can free us.

Whether you’re a philosophy expert or novice, this course will inspire you to live more authentically, tenderly, and fully. It will help you reflect on how you want to show up for yourself, in your relationships, and as a whole. It will connect you with a community of people who are curious and dedicated to inquiring about life’s most precious gifts.

Bon Appétit Magazine: what people are cooking

With Christmas on my mind, I made Butterscotch Blondie Bars with Peanut-Pretzel Caramel from the December issue. I love making bars when I'm hosting large groups of people because it's fun, easy, and can be complemented with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. The bars turned out salty-sweet with a satisfying crunch from the pretzels and roasted peanuts. I ended up making the Pecan Bourbon Butterscotch Bread Pudding for all the interns the next week with some leftover croissants--and in my opinion, it topped the blondies.
